Cookware De Buyer Mineral B Wok 32cm

The 32cm De Buyer Mineral B wok is just what you need for making Chinese stir-fries over a searing heat. The conical iron wok heats evenly up the sides to give the largest possible cooking area, for meals that cook in a flash.

This large iron wok is fitted with a second, smaller handle to make it easier to lift when you’ve finished cooking. The high sides are ideal for tossing the ingredients with the distinctive ‘rolling’ motion that’s so instinctive when cooking with a wok. It also has a flat base so it doesn’t tip on electric and induction stoves.

De Buyer’s Mineral B range of iron pans are coated with natural beeswax. This provides protection against rust. The beeswax also gives Mineral B pans enhanced non-stick properties on the first use compared to other iron pans.

SEASONING INSTRUCTIONS

The De Buyer Mineral B wok requires proper seasoning to keep it in top condition. Before the first use, use hot water and a soft sponge to remove the beeswax coating. Then season the pan – pour in just enough oil to coat the bottom of the pan and bring to a high temperature. Carefully swirl the pan to coat the sides of the wok with the oil. When a smoky-haze appears remove it from the heat and wipe well with some kitchen towel held in tongs. Now the pan is ready to use.

Always ensure there is enough oil or natural fat (e.g. butter, lard) in the pan when using, then deglaze with hot water and wipe with a paper towel after use. If the pan needs washing, ensure it is completely dried and lightly-oiled before storing. Follow these steps and your pan will build up a dark patina that increases the pan’s non-stick properties. The more you use it, the more non-stick it will become.

This Mineral B wok is 32cm in diameter. The total length including both handles is 60.5cm. It is suitable for all cooking surfaces including induction.

Please note: due to the manufacturing process there may be scratches on the inner surface of the pan. This does not affect the quality of the product and will disappear with proper seasoning over time.
